Welcome to Ben Kaye Words. A home for the words of myself, Ben Kaye.
As I lean further and further into my own aspirations at cultural criticism, the time has come to find a new space - untethered to the social media websites operated by the most cartoonish villains lording over the tech landscape - to write long-form about my own thoughts, feelings, criticism, etc. regarding arts and culture in the world today. It had to be done, I say!
My own previous attempts at newsletters/blogs have outright failed, and I think my own self-imposed deadlines for these ventures (be they weekly, monthly, what-have-you) have caused heaps of pressure, and would only do more so now as I navigate a full-time job, fatherhood, and other attempts at Having a Life.
So, there won’t be a pre-set schedule for whatever this is (for the most part). Here’s where I’m at with what’s to come…
general long-form musings on things that interest me in the pop culture realm (usually film, but also theater, television, and the political intersections of the above).
reviews of film & theater that wouldn’t otherwise have a home at another outlet.
at this time, I post a weekly Movie Diary over on my personal instagram. this will be moved over here imminently!
